Reading Attitudes and Practices: the Italian Experience (Overview of Statistical Data)

Abstract. In this article, up-to-date statistical data from studies and polls revealing reading activity in recent years in Italy will be presented. In particular, we will focus on the profile of young people in Italy as readers - their reading preferences, attitudes and habits. Emphasis will be placed on the efforts of Italian institutions (schools, libraries, publishing houses) to promote reading.
