Abstract. This article analyzes the importance of vocational education and training (VET) in STEM disciplines (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) as a key factor in building a culture of standardization among young professionals. In the context of increasing technological complexity and globalizing markets, the knowledge and application of standards emerges as a critical competence. Good European and national practices, challenges in training practice and proposals for the strategic integration of standardization-related topics in vocational education are presented.
