Absract. The article presents the results of the external assessment in Biology and Health Education – VIII grade during the 2018 – 2019 school year, in representative sample of 2682 students from all administrative regions. The sample is representative for the country, but not representative for the regions. The research is purposefully oriented to the acquired knowledge, skills, attitudes and attitudes of students, as well as deficits in the process of teaching Biology. In quality as real
unit of measure achievements we perceive the assessment task. The length of the test is 15 tasks – 13 with optional answer and 2 with free answer. The results of the one-time testing of the test show that the tasks have good statistical characteristics. There is a statistically significant difference in student achievements, in favor of those with intensive foreign language learning.
