(Observations on the current status of the functional reading literacy of 15-year-olds in the Republic of Bulgaria)

Absract. The text analyzes the answers of participants in PISA 2022 to three of the questions with the help of which the reading literacy of 15-year-olds in Bulgaria was assessed. Based on analysis, the text reaches conclusions about the educational deficits that determine the unsatisfactory level of the mentioned literacy of the Bulgarian students, and outlines possibilities for their compensation.
