Abstract. The current research aims to present different cases of use within the general meaning of the Bulgarian present tense and its corresponding relations in English and Spanish. The article gives examples of transpositional and modal use of the present tense category in the three languages studied – Bulgarian, English and Spanish. Systematized rules for interlingual transfer of semantic information in the use of the Bulgarian present tense and its relations in English and Spanish are derived.
