Abstract. The aim of this article is to research both theoretical and practical aspects of applying project-oriented activities as one of the key methods for teaching literature in high school. Furthermore the article describes the rules one must follow in order to successfully complete a project task, as well as the stages a team goes through in such task. The article shares best practices and examples of game-based learning regarding Ancient Greek Mythology in 8th grade. An unusual approach for teaching Daniel Defoe’s novel “Robinson Crusoe” in 9th grade is also presented.
