Absract. The purpose of this study is to outline the basic discussion issues related to e-assessment, and in particular learning-oriented e-assessment and on this basis to outline the challenges of practice and research in this field. It is defended that e-assessment is not a different phenomenon from assessment and technological environment are not determining but context. In this sense, they set the particularities and characteristics of assessment, rather than defining its essence. From this position, it is argued that insofar as the methodological foundations of e-learning are sought in the field of constructivism and connectivism, a concept of assessment adequate to this methodology should be developed. A learning-oriented e-assessment is just such an opportunity.
