ADAPTED METHODOLOGY OF HISTORY EDUCATION

This Methodology has its essential theoretical and applied significance in revealing the way the teachers teach their students in the Bulgarian schools abroad. It gives a general description of the current state of teaching in the Bulgarian schools abroad, as well as of the essential features of this teaching, which naturally gives rise to many difficulties and problems. Teachers have to cope with the difficulties of such a teaching process - it is one thing to go to school every day, another - only on Sundays, with the geographical distance of the different representatives of the Bulgarian diaspora and the difficulties of ensuring the regular attendance of students. With the lack of adapted textbooks and teaching aids, with the financial difficulties of maintaining and increasing the facilities. And with the purely methodological and didactic problems around structuring the teaching material, combining it with the teaching of history and related humanities in the local schools that the students attend. Revealed are also discipline-specific difficulties related to periodisation, historical skills, habits and knowledge that the local cultural and didactic tradition fosters, contrary to our intentions in this direction. Therefore, the responsible attitude and intentions of each individual history teacher are of utmost importance - and this is where the usefulness of the methodology presented lies.
